About Lucky Lady
Hi, I’m the maker behind Lucky Lady Ceramics, Laura Elizabeth!
By day, I’m a high school ceramics teacher. By night (and most weekends), I’m a potter who just can’t keep my hands out of the clay. My love affair with clay started back in college at the University of Georgia, where I was actually studying graphic design. The very first time I sat down at the wheel, I knew I was hooked. I even thought about switching my major to ceramics—though my parents were not on board with that idea. So, I stuck with design, but pottery stuck with me. Since then, it’s become a lifelong passion, one I’ve built through curiosity, plenty of trial and error, and a whole lot of muddy practice.
Clay keeps me grounded, inspired, and endlessly learning. My work is deeply influenced by my love of all things girly and whimsy. Every piece I make feels like a little celebration of femininity and joy.
Each collection I create is named after women in my family as my way of honoring the women who came before me and keeping them close.
The name Lucky Lady Ceramics comes from my love of ladybugs. Their symbolism of luck and gentle magic resonates with me and reminds me to find beauty in the small details.
When you bring one of my pieces into your home, my hope is that it carries with it not just utility and beauty, but also a little bit of love, history, and luck.

Her Hands Came Before Mine
Every Lucky Lady piece carries a story; one connected to the women in my family: my grandmothers, Betty and Jane; my great-grandmothers, Florence, Cleo, Mildred, and Carlease; and one day, my mom, Pam (I’m still working on a collection worthy of her name). These are the women whose kindness, laughter, and courage inspire every collection I create. Their names are whispered through pink petals, gentle glazes, and the lucky ladybugs that always seem to find their way home. Before my hands touched clay, theirs built homes and raised families. These collections bear their names as a small way to keep their beauty, resilience, and joy alive in every piece I make.
